Abuja Job Description:
•Perform commissioning and acceptance tests on new network links
•Perform integration of new satellite links to the existing network
•Ensure provisioning of bandwidth to specifications and maintenance of satellite earth stations
•Ensure traffic cutover to satellite/fibre, SDH backbone links
•Manage and escalate faults on satellite
•Report on the availability of satellite transmission network in line with service level agreements.
•Ensure spare inventory for satellite nodes are kept to support planned projects
•Ensure monthly meetings are held with satellite vendors, which serves as a feedback session
•Raise change requests for all network maintenance jobs
•Ensure access to transmission room is only to authorized personnel
•Keep proper documentation and records of all operational satellite links
•Monitor link parameters and propose or take remedial action
•Ensure international routes availability
•Perform quarterly preventive maintenance on all MTNN satellite earth station
•Ensure LINKSTAR network availability and meet the signed SLA
Job Conditions: Normal MTNN working conditions. National travel and a valid drivers license. On standby 24/7 throughout the year Reporting To: Satellite Support Services Manager Required Skills:
•4 years experience comprising:
•Three (3) years hands-on experience in satellite transmission in telecommunication environment
•Experience with SCPC and VSAT modems
•Experience in telecommunication transmission and radio planning
•Experience in SDH and SDH multiplexers
•In-depth knowledge of telecommunication sector
•Basic IP knowledge Employment Status :
Permanent Qualification:
Engineering degree or equivalent

They are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of an IT Manager.

Description

The IT Manager will have to provide hardware and software maintenance, consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources.

Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of the technology services and resource. The position is based in Lagos.

Responsibilities Of The Employee

1. To ensure maximum availability of computer systems throughout the Company.

2. Responsible for the provision of IT infrastructure services including desktop applications, Local and / or Wide area networks, IT security and telecommunications.

3 Working with senior management to propose, agree and deliver IT service to defined Service Level Agreements.Support & guide end users on software
4 Responsible for IT hardware, software and maintenance procurement.

5 To develop and control the IT security policy.

6 Provide a monthly written report on all aspects of the IT Department.Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system.

7 To schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems; researching and installing new systems;

8 To ensure the smooth running of all systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision;

9 To ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to;

10 To provide secure access to the network for remote users;

11 To ensure the security of data from internal and external attack;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

--- Degree in Information Services (or equivalent).
--- Proven IT experience up to 5 years including network (LAN/WAN) management, active directory, Windows server 2003 installation and management, backup systems, IT project management, PABX.
--- 5 years experience in a systems support and telecommunications
--- 2 years experience in a Unix environment.
--- Knowledge of VSAT and Lotus Notes are desirable
--- Previous experience in similar industry will be a plus
--- MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional).
--- Excellent in problem solving, analytical skills
--- Ability to work in multicultural environment and under pressure
--- Communication skills (English), spoken and written (excellent)
